FEDERAL MEDICAID RULES HAVE CHANGED...Congress passed the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005 on February 1, 2006. This bill is intended to produce budget savings by cutting programs like Medicare and Medicaid. It also contains many new restrictions on the ability of families to protect their assets and seniors who need nursing home care will have a harder time qualifying for assistance.
